Official driving licence vision test

with certificate

Anyone wishing to obtain a driving licence in categories A, A1, A2, B, BE, AM, L or T must pass an official vision test (Section 12 (2) of the Driving Licence Ordinance). As an authorised driving licence vision test centre, we can issue the certificate.

Sufficient visual acuity is required for driving in order not to endanger yourself and others in road traffic.

For this reason, the legislator has specified a visual performance threshold that, as a rule, must not be fallen below. Driving licence applicants pass the vision test at the authorised test centre with a daytime visual acuity of 0.7 in each eye.

If the applicant requires glasses or contact lenses to achieve this visual acuity, the visual aid will be noted on the driving licence.

What else do we need?
A valid passport or national ID card.

How much does the driving licence vision test cost?
The test fee is €7.50.

Is an appointment required?
No, the test can be carried out at any time and takes 5 to 10 minutes.
