Trends & Innovations from SILMO Paris 2026
We returned to SILMO in Paris in 2026—one of the world’s most important trade fairs for ophthalmic optics and eyewear design. Here, international manufacturers and designers present their latest collections, technologies, and ideas for the future of vision.
For us, this means discovering trends, evaluating innovations, and bringing the most exciting new releases home to you.
Eyewear Fashion 2026/2027: A Call for Personality
The new collections make one thing clear: eyewear is once again allowed to show character. Colors, shapes, and materials are becoming more versatile and individual. Key stylistic directions include:
Playful & Creative: Pastel tones, floral colors, striking patterns, multi-colored acetate, and unique details provide fresh accents.
Bold & Characterful: Large, architectural frames meet warm, deep colors, tortoiseshell finishes, and high-quality acetate materials.
Sporty & Technical: Dynamic shapes, lightweight materials, carbon and metal finishes, and bold color accents combine design with function.
The ’90s Reinterpreted: Oval, round, and softly rectangular shapes are making a comeback. Clean lines, black, white, and metallic tones ensure a look that is both modern and timeless.
The beauty of it: there is no single trend. Eyewear is increasingly becoming an expression of one’s own personality.
Smart Glasses and AI: When Eyewear Can Do More
Another major future-oriented theme at SILMO 2026 is smart glasses and the use of artificial intelligence. Smart glasses are increasingly evolving from technical experiments into products suitable for everyday use. Cameras, voice control, digital information, sensors, and AI are opening up entirely new possibilities. We will also soon be offering the Even Realities G2 with your prescription values.
Digital consultation, new possibilities for adjustment, and measurement help in selecting and manufacturing eyewear even more individually and optimally. For us, one thing remains decisive: new technology must offer genuine added value in everyday life.
Sustainable materials and production processes continue to gain importance. Recycled frame materials, bio-based plastics, recyclable acetate, and more durable product concepts show how modern eyewear design and a more conscious use of resources can be combined.
Our ambition remains to always be one step ahead for you: with an extraordinary selection of eyewear, high-quality products, and personal consultation that considers your visual needs as much as your individual style.
